Exadata.. If you are dba than its not possible to don’t hear Exadata machine.
It is a popular and powerful database platform developed by Oracle Corporation. It is a most popular Appliance for Oracle database.
Basically, It is designed for high-performance, scalable, and efficient processing of large volumes of data. I believe that, the most important key in those topic is performance and large volumes of data.
In the past time, Exadata X3 to X5 its prefer(mostly) for DWH systems. But with X6 version, Its also started to use for OLTP system.
September 28th 2021, Oracle released the eleventh Exadata data machine called “X9M-2” (2 CPU sockets), X9M-8 (8 sockets) and ZDLRA X9M. Exadata is a computing platform to run Oracle RDBMS, zero data loss recovery appliance (ZDLRA) is a platform to backup Oracle RDBMS and based on Exadata hardware.
So in this post we will comparing Exadata whit other database platforms.
Let’s explore some of the key considerations:
Some of main Exadata Vision is:
Ideal Database Hardware:
Scale-out, database optimized compute, networking, and storage for fastest performance and lowest costs
Smart System Software:
Specialized algorithms vastly improve all aspects of database processing: OLTP, Analytics, Consolidation
Automated Management:
automation and optimization of configuration, updates, performance, and management culminating in Fully Autonomous Database and Infrastructure
Performance:
Exadata is specifically engineered to deliver excellent performance for data-intensive workloads. It incorporates smart storage and networking technologies to accelerate data processing. The combination of Oracle Database software and Exadata hardware can provide impressive query response times and high throughput.
Scalability:
Exadata offers seamless scalability, allowing organizations to expand their database infrastructure as their data requirements grow. It supports both scale-up and scale-out architectures, enabling additional compute and storage resources to be added without disrupting ongoing operations.
Integration with Oracle Ecosystem:
Exadata seamlessly integrates with other Oracle products and technologies. It is optimized to work with Oracle Database and supports various Oracle features like Real Application Clusters (RAC), Partitioning, and Automatic Storage Management (ASM). This integration can provide additional benefits to organizations already using Oracle software.
Cost:
Exadata is considered a high-end database platform and tends to have a higher initial cost compared to some other database solutions. However, organizations that have substantial data processing needs and require the performance and scalability provided by Exadata may find that the investment is justified.
