In some case, you should need to change your existing hostname on your Linux operating system.
In this post, I try to explain how you can do it on Linux operating system.
First I need to edit some files(you can use vi editors or vim) then you need to reboot your system to can change your hostname permanently.
Here are the steps:
1. /etc/hosts 2. /etc/sysconfig/network 3. /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 (depends on NIC name)
then reboot.
